Washington, D.C. Forecast: Afternoon Thunderstorms could become severe

Damaging winds and hail will be possible in Washington, D.C. and Maryland this afternoon and evening.

Tonight:
Showers and Storms
Lows: Low 60s
Wind: S to West 10
Friday:
Showers end early, then decreasing clouds
Highs: Upper 60s
Wind: NW 10-20

A slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon/evening.

Don't leave home without the umbrella today. Showers and thunderstorms will become widespread this afternoon and evening. A few of the storms may become severe and produce damaging winds and hail.

 The cold front won't pass to our east until Friday, so a few lingering showers are possible through mid-morning. Then decreasing clouds, but rather cool and breezy conditions. The sunshine is back for the Holiday weekend, but it will be windy on Saturday.  highs in the low 70s for Saturday and Sunday. By Monday, we will see some clouds returning and a chance of showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
