Not to shabby today but more garden-variety afternoon storms expected today and tomorrow

This Afternoon: Isolated thunderstorms

Temperatures: 70s | Wind: W 5 - 10 mph

Overnight: Partly Cloudy

Lows: Around 60 | Wind: light

Friday: Muggy!

Highs: 80s | UV Index: High

Finally the fog and the clouds have cleared the area and sunshine will come through and continue through most of the afternoon. Can’t rule out a few afternoon isolated thunderstorms rolling through. I do not believe that it will be as scattered or intense as yesterday but we could see a few strong cells this afternoon, particularly to the north of the DC area. Sunshine and a few clouds start off your Friday morning, however, as a cold front begins to approach the area, clouds will roll in during the afternoon and more scattered storms expected. Some of these storms could be strong to severe (severe storms most likely held to the north and west of the District). Highs tomorrow will top out in the lower to mid 80s and it will a little on the muggy side. That front will push through into Saturday triggering more widespread showers and thunderstorms through the day. Highs still manage to reach the upper 70s with clouds on Saturday. Some of the showers could linger into Mother’s Day morning however, I think there will be rapid clearing behind the frontal system on Sunday mid-morning and through the afternoon. Quite a cool down on Sunday and through the first part of next week with highs only in the upper 60s.
