FREEZE WARNING in effect Washington County, MD, eastern Panhandle of WV and along and west of the Blue Ridge in VA.

Clouds, gusty breezes and a few sprinkles mark the leading edge of a colder air mass that will arrive in our area tonight. Clearing skies and diminishing winds overnight will allow temperatures to drop to very cold levels for the middle of May. As noted above FREEZE WARNINGS and FROST ADVISORIES are in effect. Tomorrow will be a bit milder with more sunshine than today.

A warm front will cross the region on Wednesday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible as the leading edge of much warmer arrives. Thereafter, unsettled conditions will challenge our daily forecasting. Right now, a cold front is expected to get close enough to fire up some thunderstorms on Thursday. Highs will be in the lower 80s. The weather for Friday should be partly cloudy with highs again in the lower 80s. Sneak peak at the weekend…..let’s do that tomorrow. It appears it will be warm just not confident whether if will be dry or rainy on Saturday and Sunday.
