High pressure will continue to dominate weather conditions across the mid-Atlantic states until Monday. With the high pressure center to the northeast of Washington, there will continue to be an easterly component to the winds. This will keep temperatures at or slightly below average and it will also allow a low deck of stratus clouds to form overnight on the Eastern Shore.
There could be a repeat of those early morning stratus clouds, moving westward to the metro area, until the high angle sunshine clears skies by midday. The next weather event will be an area of low pressure that will be approaching from the southwest later Monday and Tuesday. Cloudy skies with a chance of showers is our forecast for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
