An area of high pressure will keep skies clear during the overnight hours. Temperatures will fall into the 40s inside and around the Beltway with upper 30s in the mountains.

Memorial Day will be nearly perfect: sunshine, comfortable temperatures and low humidity. The late May sun is strong, so make sure you have sunscreen and a hat for protection. For more information, check out the Skin Cancer Foundation website here. Highs will be in the upper 70s.

A few showers may dot radar late Monday and into Tuesday, but the chances are limited. Highs will be near 80 degrees. Come Wednesday, much hotter and more humid air will overspread the mid-Atlantic. Highs will be in the 80s to near 90. The hot weather will extend into next weekend.
