The fog was very dense this morning outside of the beltway with visibility less than 1/2 mile at times. Check out this snapshot in Aldie from our Weather Bug network.

Fog in Aldie, VA

The fog broke up and the sunshine should break through the clouds late morning through the afternoon, but much like yesterday as we heat up into the 70s, the air becomes unstable and we will kick up a few thundershowers.  Futurecast shows them scattered across the area mid afternoon.

Futurecast Showers at 3 pm

The majority of Friday looks nice with partly cloudy skies, but a cold front from the west will trigger some thunderstorms late Friday and continues Saturday.  A more stable and sunny weather pattern starts next week.
