Will thunderstorms threaten outdoor Father's Day activities? And how long will this humid air mass last into the work week?

After a splendid Saturday with plenty of sparkling sunshine, low humidity, and a high of 85 at Reagan National, today is a bit  less attractive and comfortable. Dew points rose overnight and skies clouded over some as filtered sunshine  shone through during the morning hours.  The best chance for precipitation on this Father's Day comes later this afternoon when thunderstorms are possible.  Some of those storms could produce strong winds. Highs today could reach the upper 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible again in the overnight hours with patchy fog developing near daybreak. Monday will be yet another very warm and humid day, but thunderstorm possibilities are quite low.  The threat of showers and thunderstorms rises again on Tuesday as a cold front moves through the area.  Thereafter, high pressure returns and brings sunnier and somewhat cooler days right into next weekend.  Enjoy your Father's Day!
