After a pleasant Saturday, will Mother Nature's generosity extend through Father's Day?  And after last week's dramatic storms, are there any more that threaten in the near future?

After a challenging and very dramatic week of weather, it is a soothing Saturday.  With high pressure in place and light winds from the northwest, it is an especially pleasant day.  Dew points in the 50s and air temperatures in the low to mid 80s are making for a welcome reprieve from what have been some especially humid days.

Father's Day however, will be more problematic.  With a front nearing and winds shifting to the southwest, Sunday should start out sunny, but increasing cloudiness, higher dew points, and warmer temperatures will make for a less- than-perfect afternoon.  Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening hours as highs rise to the mid to upper 80s.

There will be more thunderstorm threats on both Monday and Tuesday  - and yet more above average heat - but high pressure will return at midweek.  Indeed, mostly sunny skies and cooler Canadian air could last from Wednesday right through to next weekend.

Remember your sun block and your hat as you enjoy this sun-splashed Saturday!
