The severe threat is over today, but the warm and muggy weather sticks around.

Tonight:
Partly Cloudy, Muggy
Lows: 70s
Wind: Light
Friday:
Partly Cloudy, PM Storms Possible
Highs: Upper 80s
Precipitation: 40%

The clouds that rolled in earlier this afternoon and the showers that developed over the metro area helped drop temperatures and stabilize the atmosphere, diminishing the severe weather threat.  The tornado watch has since been canceled for the entire viewing area and sunshine is returning to end the day.

LOCAL RADAR LOOPS

Tomorrow will be continued hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.  The same weather system responsible for strong storms in PA today and rain shows in D.C., will stalls around the area leaving another chance for afternoon storms tomorrow.  Saturday and Sunday will remain slightly unsettled with slight chances for late day showers and storms with humid highs in the middle 80s.
