Heat will be on the rise tomorrow and humidity will join it Sunday. Storms are back in the forecast but will the weekend remain dry?
High pressure along the coast of Southern New England will re-orient and expand southward over the weekend and early next week. This process will transform our current, warm and dry pattern into a very familiar weather pattern for the first weekend of summer and well into next week. That pattern: partly cloudy, hot and humid conditions, day after day is a mainstay of Washington summers.
A couple question marks with the outlook. Some computer models simulate a weak disturbance moving through the area on Sunday. If that happens, it will become cloudy and there could be a few showers over the mountains. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny. As temperatures and humidity levels rise next week, it is only a matter of time before late afternoon thunderstorms start popping. We see a 20% chance of that happening on Monday and 30% chance on Tuesday and Wednesday.
