Isolated heavy storms last evening featured torrential downpours and high winds.

A cold front will take its good, old, sweet time crossing the area today. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger. There is a chance for skies to brighten during the day with some sunshine but it will be this evening when a more noticeable clearing trend will develop. Along with the clearing skies, cooler and drier air will arrive, as well. Sunny and pleasant conditions are forecast tomorrow and Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. By Thursday, it will become a bit warmer and more humid and a few afternoon thunderstorms will be possible. On Friday, showers and thunderstorms will become likely.
