Sunny Stretch, how long can it last?

Hello, sunshine! So nice to see you!  High pressure in the Northeast is dominating our weather pattern, clearing our skies and wiping out the humidity.  A little moisture combined with cool temps this morning brought some patchy fog and a few clouds, but we should see mostly sunny skies this afternoon.  A little reminder to lather up with sunscreen today, and a HIGH UV Index.

Ultra Violet Index

There could be a pop up thundershower in the mountains to the west, but dry for the metro.  Stable weather is expected through the rest of the week.  Temperatures will slowly warm as air heats up over time under the influence of highs pressure. Air descends in high pressure systems, it compresses and heats up. It will be gradual, but by the end of the weekend, we will reach near 90 degrees. Next chance of storms outside of the mountains will be early next week.  Follow me on facebook and twitter for more updates. If you don't, you probably missed out watching the live NASA rocket launch at Wallops this morning! :)
