Heavy rainfall continues to fall over parts of the region this afternoon with the heaviest south and east of D.C. WeatherBug rainfall totals have reached over 1.5 inches in some areas including Calvert, Anne Arundel, Charles and Saint Mary's County.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the majority of the D.C. area until 6pm and a Flash Flood Warning is in effect through much of Southern Maryland until 5pm.
Rain will come to an end late this evening and into tonight as low pressure exits the region. Clouds will hang around tonight with lows in the 60s. Wednesday will enter with drier air filtering into the region and the return of sunshine with highs around 80 degrees. Thursday will be one of the nicest days of the week with highs in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will warm into the mid 80s by Friday and mid to upper 80s over the weekend but quiet conditions will remain with chances for storms mainly limited to the mountains.
