Plenty of sunshine out there again today. An excessive heat warning issued for the DC area, Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church and Baltimore starting at noon until 8PM…..that means heat indices will be around 100 degrees! A heat advisory is still in place for NOVA and Montgomery County and points East from noon until 8 PM, this is where we will find heat indices around 105. We start to break down this pattern tomorrow as temperatures rise into the mid 90s…still warm though with heat indices measuring around 100. A cold front will approach from the north through the day on Saturday moving through the area on Saturday night and stalling just to the south of the region on Sunday. This will cause a chance of scattered storms across the region Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening and possibly a few overnight. The chance of showers lingers into Sunday – with just a few here or there. Our heat drops off slight for Sunday and into the next work week with only a chance of showers each afternoon.
