The hottest weather we have seen in quite sometime is unveiling itself this week!

This Afternoon:
Temperatures: 90s
Heat Index: 97 - 103
Muggy and Warm
Lows: 70s
Wind: W 5-10 mph
Heat Advisory Issued
Highs: Mid 90s
Heat Index: 100+

Hot. Hot. Hot. And that pretty much sums it up. High pressure has a strong hold on the Mid-Atlantic and that means we are going to continue to see mainly clear skies and scorching temperatures warming to near 100 by weeks end. With the humidity in places, the heat indices (or what it feels like actually outside) will approach the lower triple digits. There could be heat advisories posted by the National Weather Service through this week (in fact, there is a heat advisory posted for Tuesday from noon until 7PM for the District, Baltimore, Arlington, Falls Church and Alexandria). No real shot of rain through this week. A very slight chance Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon west of the city but that is about it. Next chance of rain will come by this upcoming weekend IF a frontal system continues to drop through our area.
