The good news, we're half-way through this heat wave. The bad news, the high temps continue! A Heat Advisory goes into effect at Noon.

Today:
Hazy, Very Hot & Humid, Stray Storm Mainly West
Highs: 94º-99º
Heat Index:100º-105º
Overnight:
Few Clouds, Muggy & Very Warm (Stray Storm)
Lows:72º-82
Wind:Light SW
Tomorrow:
Hazy, Very Hot & Humid, Stray Storm Mainly West
Highs:95º-100º
Heat Index: 100º-105º

We hit 97º yesterday marking the warmest day of the year and the third in a string of six 90-degree days! High heat and humidity continue under hazy sunshine with a slight daily chance for a thundershower but most, if any action should remain west of DC. A cold front arriving Saturday will bring our greatest chance for scattered thundershowers and some could be strong to severe. Temperatures drop to seasonable levels, upper 80s for Sunday with a shower or storm still possible. Stay cool and have a great day!

Code Orange Air Quality is expected today through Friday in the D.C. area, which means not only will the dangerous heat continue, but the air will also be unhealthy for sensitive groups including children, the elderly and anyone with heart or breathing difficulties.
