Our late summer splendor continues today with yet more of the partly sunny skies and comfortable warmth that made Saturday so beautiful.  With high temperatures of 85 at Reagan National and 83 at both BWI Marshall and Dulles, yesterday began what is arguably one of the summer's best weekends. Today should see highs again in  the low to mid 80s with a fair number of cumulus clouds.

As the benevolent high pressure system of the past few days drifts to the south, our weather will gradually get a bit warmer and more humid.  Monday should be mostly sunny and dry with highs in the mid 80s.  But a series of disturbances could bring showers on Tuesday and, more likely, on Wednesday.  Indeed Wednesday could be a rather stormy day as highs reach the upper 80s.  The passage of a cold front that day will knock the temperatures down a bit along with the humidity as we head into the Labor Day holiday weekend.  It will be hard to say goodbye to a summer that has been so extraordinarily mild!  Enjoy your Sunday.
