Look for a very pleasant day with mostly sunny skies, highs in the low 80s, and low humidity. Sunday should be an equally comfortable and attractive day.

This Afternoon:
Mostly Sunny & Pleasant
Highs: 80-83
Wind: NE 5-10 mph
Tonight:
Mostly Clear & Mild
Lows: 58-65
Wind: SE 5 mph
Sunday:
Mostly Sunny & Comfortable
Highs: 80-85
Wind: S 5 mph

After rising into the 90s on Thursday for only the third time this month, yesterday's mere 79 degree high was more typical of this unseasonably cool August.  This weekend will continue that cooler than normal trend with two delightful days in the low 80s (the average high is 86).  There could be some patchy cloudiness today, but with high pressure in place, sunny skies should prevail.  Combined with lower dew points, it  will make for a very comfortable Saturday.  After a mostly clear, mild night, Sunday should feature an encore of today's mostly sunny and pleasantly warm conditions.

After yet one more mostly sunny day with low humidity on Monday, our fortunes will change at midweek as a series of disturbances could bring showers and warmer, more humid air back to DC.  Daytime highs in the upper 80s will return more typical August conditions for the month's final few days.  Enjoy this "made to order" weekend!

NOTE: This relatively cool weekend is not all that different from the weather back on August 28, 1963, the date of the March on Washington.  The high that day was 83, the low 63, and no rain fell.  Still, with no shade on the Mall, it felt hot for many in the large crowd who cooled off in the Reflecting Pool.
