Thursday:

The cold front is crossing through the area now.   Keep updated with the showers accompanying the front via our Live Super Doppler.  Cooler air will follow the front overnight, The next few days will be absolutely beautiful. There will be sunshine, fair weather clouds and below average temperatures. Pretty good stuff for the middle of August in Washington.

Computer models are suggesting an organized area of low pressure may develop late Saturday over central NC. If this occurs and their simulations are on target, Sunday could wind up being a cloudy day with a chance of showers. These could continue into Monday. But until then, our weather fortunes are looking up. Again we will keep our eyes on radar trends this evening as the cold front approaches and then crosses the region.
