An area of low pressure is approaching from the west and is touching off showers and thunderstorms west and southwest of the Washington area. As we head through the evening and night-time hours, as the disturbance gets closer,  scattered showers and thunderstorms will move across the metro area.

It will be partly cloudy, very warm and humid tomorrow with increasing chances for late afternoon and evening thunderstorms as a cold front heads this way. Clouds may linger early Friday but slightly cooler and drier air will filter in during the day. The weekend still looks great! We are forecasting mostly sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday with highs only in the lower 80s and comfortably low humidity levels.
