Washington D.C. Forecast: Heat and humidity returns this week

Humidity will be low one last day before the mugginess returns. Storm chances will increase by mid-week.

High pressure will hold on for one more day with sunny skies and warm temperatures in the mid 80s expected. Humidity will be held at bay with dewpoints only around 60 degrees. Tonight, the mugginess will increase and temperatures will fall into the mid 60s to near 70 degrees under mostly clear skies.

Tuesday will feature a disturbance approaching from the northwest which will allow for an afternoon chance for thunderstorms. Ahead of this system, temperatures will approach the 90 degree mark. A better chance for storms appears like it will be here on Wednesday with a cold front. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees through Friday.
