An unseasonably cool and dry area of high pressure is responsible for the beautiful weather we are enjoying. This late September-like system will keep us in fine shape through Friday. But over the weekend, as the high moves out, we will be watching an area of low pressure steadily approaching our area from the southwest.

Right now we expect Saturday to be partly cloudy for most of the day. There is a slight chance a few afternoon showers could move as close as Roanoke and Richmond. On Sunday, as the system nears, we are forecasting considerable cloudiness with a 30% chance of showers. This is only Wednesday, so things could change by the weekend. But at the moment we feel Saturday will feature better outdoor weather conditions than Sunday. Stay in touch as you fine tune your weekend plans.
