A hot and steamy holiday weekend with some storms in the mix.

This Afternoon:
All sunshine!
Temperatures: 80s
Wind: S 5-10 mph
Overnight:
Partly Cloudy
Lows: Lower 70s
Wind: S 5-10 mph
Saturday:
Increasing Clouds
Highs: Around 90
Wind: S 5-10 mph

A warm day today with high pressure moving overhead and eventually traveling offshore through the day tomorrow. Highs reach into the upper 80s, nearing 90 once again today with plenty of sunshine. Overnight lows drop into the lower 70s with humidity continuing to increase during the overnight hours and through the weekend. Highs for the holiday weekend will mainly be around the 90 degree mark (give or take a few degrees). Clouds will increase through the day on Saturday with a slight chance of storms in the afternoon mainly west of town. Chances for storms will improve east of the Blue Ridge as we move into Saturday evening. Sunday features very muggy conditions with more clouds than sun. A better chance of showers and storms for all locations in the listening area and an even greater chance on Monday for showers and storms around the region through the day with an approaching cold front. If the front lingers, we may have to introduce some showers into Tuesday but for now, the front clears Monday night leaving cooler and drier conditions for mid next week as high pressure builds into the area.
