Sunshine will tease us again today with occasional appearances in between the clouds, but thundershowers more likely this afternoon.

This Afternoon:
Mostly Cloudy with afternoon thundershowers
Highs: Mid-Upper 80s
Rain: 50%
a few showers, then cloudy skies
Lows: Low 70s
Rain: 30%
Partly Sunny with scattered thunderstorms
Highs: Upper 80s
Precipitation: 60%

We are slowly getting warmer this week, but at the same time our showers will be more widespread. A cold front is working its way toward us and will trigger thundershowers this afternoon.

This Afternoon

They may be some heavy downpours both today and tomorrow afternoon. The front will stall near D.C. this weekend, but chances of rain will have diminished. Only a 30% chance Saturday and Sunday with more sunshine and seasonable temperatures in the upper 80s. Speaking of seasonable... we have now started the downward slide for average temperatures. The average high at Reagan National is down a notch to 87 degrees. We end August with an average high of 84.
