A cloudy start to the work week with showers on and off today. Much of it is staying south of D.C. this morning, but a few showers and an isolated t-storm is possible this afternoon. The jet stream is lifting to the north today and will put us in the warm sector by tomorrow. Up to this point it has been a cool August.
Cool August
As of today, the average temperature in D.C. is almost two and a half degrees below average. This will change with the jet stream to our north and allow temperatures to soar above average in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees the rest of the week. The average high is 86 degrees.
