Rather Gloomy today with on and off showers and a few thunderstorms.

This Afternoon:
Mostly Cloudy with Showers and Thunderstorms
Highs: Mid 80s
Precipitation: 75%
Tonight:
Any lingering showers ending with decreasing clouds overnight
Lows: Near 70
Precipitation: 30%
Thursday:
Partly Sunny
Highs: Mid-Upper 80s
Wind: N 5-10

Not exactly ideal weather for the March on Washington today. However, it could be worse. This morning we have seen occasional showers, but the heavy rain has stayed well to the west of the city. We don't appear to be as fortunate after the noon hour today and some thunderstorms will scatter across the area. There is a greater than 50% chance that a storm will move over the mall during the mid afternoon hours. Here is just one computer model forecast possibility at 3p.m. during the moment of silence and then the President's speech.

HRRR Computer Model Forecast: Weatherbell

The action should taper off this evening and there will be a bit of clearing overnight. Skies will be partly sunny then on Thursday, but it will remain warm and muggy. I can't completely rule out a shower on Thursday, but it appears unlikely for the majority of us. The holiday weekend is right around the corner and it looks drier to start the weekend than to end it. More details on that in @AlexLiggitt 's new blog you can find here.
