Washington, D.C. weather forecast: Storms and areas of heavy rain likely Wednesday

After a hot and humid day, showers and thunderstorms will dot radar overnight with stronger storms likely Wednesday afternoon. 

Overnight:
Scattered Showers and Storms
Lows: 68°-72°
Wind: Northwest 5-10 mph
Tomorrow Morning:
Mostly Cloudy, Isolated Storms
Temperatures: 70s/80s
Wind: Northwest 5-10 mph
Tomorrow Afternoon:
Showers and T-Storms (70%)
Highs: 84°-89°
Wind: West 5-10 mph

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop this evening and into the overnight hours as temperatures fall to the upper 60s and middle 70s.

Highs will warm to the middle and upper 80s on Wednesday with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may contain gusty winds and brief heavy downpours. Timing for the stronger storms will mostly likely be during the afternoon hours.

Slightly drier, yet still hot conditions remain for the rest of the work and school week.
