A minor disturbance may produce a few few showers today and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm later this afternoon. Temperatures will continue below average but should reach the 80 degree mark. An area of high pressure will start building into the region tomorrow with a little more sunshine and warmer temperatures. By midweek, you will not recognize a familiar weather pattern for the Washington area. It will be the return of the "muggies". That is a term I use to describe to middle to late August stretches of hot and humd weather with daily highs around 90 degrees and daily chances for afternoon thunderstorms. And that is our forecast for Wedbesday, Thursday and Friday.
