Today as Calvert County students head back to class, skies turn partly cloudy with a noticeable warm up. Wednesday and Thursday will be very warm and humid with highs pushing through the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in spots. An isolated thunderstorm is possible late Wednesday. There will be a slightly better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches. Drier and a bit cooler air will filter into the region on Friday and should remain in place, making for a pleasant weather weekend. Have a great day!
The past 6 days have seen temperatures at or below 81°F. This is incredible coming in the month of August- a month when the average high should been 87º (until yesterday when the average dipped to 86º). This is something we haven’t seen since 2000!
