Today is day 2 of our 3 day mini heat wave. And everything is still on schedule for the arrival of much cooler and drier air for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and into next week. Not only were we sweltering under temperatures in the lower to middle 90s but dealing with heat index values hovering near 100 degrees. It will remain very warm and muggy overnight with patchy fog forming.
One more hot and humid day is ahead for tomorrow. During the afternoon, an approaching trough of low pressure and cold front will be the mechanisms to trigger more widespread showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. With that said, not every area will receive rain. But those that do could see some very heavy rain. High pressure builds back into the region on Friday and a string of sunny and pleasant days will follow.
