The upcoming week will be one of transition as we move into October. Showers and much cooler air has been added to the 7-day outlook.

Overnight:
Mainly Clear, Patchy Fog West
Lows: 48°-60°
Wind: East 1-3 mph
Monday:
Mostly Sunny and Beautiful
Highs: 73°-78°
Wind: Southeast 1-5 mph
Tuesday:
Mostly Sunny
Highs: near 80°
Wind: West 3-5 mph

High pressure will bring and quiet and calm night across the mid-Atlantic. Patchy fog may develop west of D.C. as lows fall into the upper 40s in the mountains and to near 60 degrees inside the Beltway. Monday and Tuesday will be beautiful with highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees. Slightly warmer and more humid air arrives Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Significant changes are on the horizon! Next weekend a cold front is likely to bring much need rain and a dramatic shift in temperatures.
