Washington, D.C. weather forecast: warm and sunny Tuesday, rain likely this weekend

Dry and pleasant weather continues across the mid-Atlantic, but changes are on the horizon with increased chances for rain by Sunday.

Fine autumn weather continues across the area for most of the upcoming week with above average daytime temperatures.

Lows overnight will settle into the 50s with  few passing clouds. The first day of October will be beautiful with highs ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s. Slightly warmer temperatures are in the forecast Wednesday and Thursday.

Clouds will start to increase by Saturday ahead of a cold front that will bring much need rain to the region. Timing of the frontal passage will have a significant impact on temperatures Sunday and Monday.
