Washington, D.C. wather forecast: Coldest weather of the season on the way

Temperatures will be well below average for the next several days as highs stay in the 50s.

Overnight:
Partly Cloudy and Cold
Lows: 32°-40°
Wind: West 5-10 mph
Thursday:
Partly Cloudy and Breezy
Highs: 50°-55°
Wind: Northwest 10-15 mph
Friday:
Partly Cloudy and Cool
Highs: lower 50s
Wind: Northwest 10-15 mph

 

 

Partly cloudy skies are anticipated overnight as temperatures fall to the lower 30s west of D.C. and to around 40 degrees inside the Beltway. Daytime highs will stay well below average for this time of  year Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will only rebound to the lower and middle 50s. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for early Friday morning for parts of the ABC 7 viewing area. Unprotected plants sensitive to freezing temperatures are likely to be killed or damaged.
