We woke up to cloudy and misty conditions in D.C. and even a few moderate showers across the region.  But, this afternoon will be drier with some breaks in the clouds.  Here's a look at the overcast sky in D.C.

and here's a look at The Congressional Country Club in Bethesda.

Both images were captured around 10:15 this morning, so just a few miles makes a difference at this time.  More of us will see sun this afternoon.  A warm front will be lifting to the north and temperatures will reach the lower 70s for most of us Thursday and Friday both.  However, chances of rain will return late on Thursday.  I still think Trick-or-Treat looks good at sunset and should hold for a few hours.  The threat of rain increases progressively towards midnight.  Right now our futurecast brings the rain in at 10 p.m.  We will fine tune the forecast throughout the day and Thursday to keep you up to date on the timing of the rain.  There will be rumbles of thunder with gusty winds possible overnight Thursday and Friday morning.  By Friday afternoon, it looks like we will dry out and clear out.
