The summer-like temperatures continue through the weekend.

This Afternoon:
Filtered sunshine and still unseasonably warm
Highs: Middle 80s
Wind: North to Southeast 5-10 mph
Partly cloudy and mild
Lows: Upper 50s to mid 60s
Wind: SSW 5 mph to calm
Partly sunny; stray storm possible west
Highs: Mid to upper 80s
Wind: WNW 5-10 mph

The warmer than average temperature train rolls on with highs in the 80s through the weekend.  Expect some high clouds today, which will keep highs a couple degrees lower than yesterday.  You'll feel the slight increase in humidity, as well.  Tomorrow will again be warm with highs in the upper 80s and only a slight chance of storm west of the Blue Ridge.  The weekend now looks mainly dry and continued warm with highs in the mid 80s.

By Monday, a strong cold front will approach the area and will deliver likely rain chances.  Some tropical moisture could accompany the cold front.  Alex Liggitt details the tropical potential in his latest blog.  The rain is much needed after September ended two and a half inches below the rainfall average.  Temperatures behind the cold front will drop back into the 70s -- closer to the seasonal average.
