Temperatures will fall into the 20s and 30s tonight as winds diminish under mostly clear skies.

Overnight:
Mostly Clear and Cold
Lows: 20s to Mid 30s
Wind: N 5-10 m.p.h.
Wednesday:
Mostly Sunny, Cool
Highs: Near 50
Wind: NE 4-8 m.p.h.
Thursday:
Partly Cloudy, Seasonal
Highs: Mid 50s
Wind: SE 4-8 m.p.h.

A sprawling area of cold high pressure is moving towards New England. By tomorrow, even more cold, dry air will be pushing southward through our area. Skies will be sunny but highs will remain in the 40s. As the high slowly shifts south and east on Thursday, winds will shift allowing temperatures to recover into the middle 50s. On Friday, the high will shift a bit farther east allowing the advance of the next cold front towards our region. Skies will be partly sunny until clouds increase later in the day.

By Saturday, the front will be close enough to create cloudy skies and scattered showers. Computer models suggest the front will pass east of Washington late Sunday night. Behind the front, on Sunday, skies will be partly cloudy but it will also be windy and very cold with high temperatures struggling to rise above the 40 degree mark.
