An arctic cold front pushed through the region this morning and will continue to filter in colder air through the day with high temperatures reached early this morning just ahead of the front (53F). The remainder of the day will experience temperatures in the low 40s, falling back into the 30s later this afternoon along with breezy northwesterly winds. Cloudy skies will persist through much of the day with some peeks of sunshine in the western suburbs late this afternoon.
Tonight will be clear and cold with lows in the 20s throughout the area. This should be the first night Reagan National dips below freezing this season. Wednesday will continue the cold stretch with highs in the mid 40s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be breezy at times. Temperatures will moderate some Thursday and Friday with highs around 50 degrees Thursday and in the mid to upper 50s Friday.
