As the huge winter storm races towards the Canadian Maritimes, .strong winds will develop and skies will gradually clear as high pressure builds into the region. The developing winds will bring colder and drier air into our area tonight and for the next several days. The interaction of the coastal storm and approaching region of high pressure will generate the strong northwesterly winds.
As the high gets closer and the low moves farther away, the winds will gradually diminish later tomorrow afternoon. But the unseasonably cold air will remain entrenched into the weekend. A slight moderation in temperatures will begin on Sunday. We will have to keep an area on an area of low pressure that computer models are suggesting could form off the east coast on Monday or Tuesday…for now we are keeping our forecast dry for those two days.
