Washington D.C. Forecast: Rain expected Thursday morning

A cold front will approach the region overnight increasing cloud cover and the chance of showers by morning.

As a large area of high pressure moves away from the East Coast, the door is now open for the approach and passage of a cold front tomorrow. In advance of the front, cloudiness will be increasing tonight. Scattered showers may develop before sunrise and continue at times through mid-day. It will also be quite breezy and mild tomorrow. Skies may begin to clear as early as tomorrow afternoon.

High pressure starts to rebuild on Friday. It will be partly to mostly sunny, breezy and somewhat cooler. The weekend looks great. Mostly sunny skies are forecast for Saturday with highs in the middle 60s. There may be a few more clouds on Sunday but still dry and pleasant with highs near 60 degrees.
