Clouds will continue to increase through this chilly Monday as temperatures only rise to the mid to upper 30s. It will be chilly for the skins game tonight-staying in the 30s but remaining dry.
By the early morning hours (4AM – 9AM)-precip will begin moving into the region from the SW to NE starting off as a wintry mix (pockets of wintry mix around DC and east of 95 but mainly rain for those areas). In fact, areas west of the Blue Ridge could see some travel problems early:
A quick changeover to all rain will take place through the mid-morning hours for all locations. Heavy rain will continue to fall through the day on Tuesday, overnight into Wednesday and through the day on Wednesday. We could see up to 2.50” of rain in some areas so we will have to watch flooding concerns closely. Winds will be a factor through the day on Wednesday so travel will be a headache without a doubt—whether flying OR driving. By the time this wraps up on Wednesday late afternoon/evening, a period of some light snow may take place. Not expecting any major accumulations but a dusting could be possible. We will dry out quickly late Wednesday evening and heading into Thursday. Thanksgiving looks beautiful but chilly. A slight breeze in the morning will calm by the afternoon/evening hours. Temperatures on Thursday will climb to the upper 30s! Black Friday will be yet another chilly but sunny day and the weekend remains dry as temperatures gradually go up through the 40s.
