A strong cold front will continue its track toward the east overnight. Gusty winds and arctic cold air will make it feel like the teens to lower 20s across much of the area. Look for a few flurries, but hardly any accumulation (the exception on super cold surfaces). Wind chills below zero have prompted the National Weather Service to issue advisories for extreme western Maryland and the panhandle of West Virginia. Blustery conditions will continue into Sunday with highs in the 30s. Strong winds will likely make it feel 15 to 20 degrees colder.
Winds will ease Monday as highs approach 40. An area of low pressure may develop off the coast and have an impact on travel starting late Tuesday and extending into Wednesday. At this point, if the storm actually forms, temperatures in the D.C. are to be well above freezing.
