The busiest travel day of the year is upon us and the weather is not cooperating.

Today:
Off & On Rain/Drizzle, Ending as Aft Snow, Windy & Cooling
Temperatures: 40s...falling
Wind: NW 15-25+ mph
Thanksgiving:
Mostly Sunny, Blustery Cold
Highs: Mid to Upper 30s
Wind: NW 10-20+ mph
Black Friday:
Sunny, Less Wind, Still Brisk
Highs: Near 40º
Wind: NW 5-10 mph

Heavy rain fell while you slept but warmer air did also nudge north. Expect heavy showers to become more scattered later today as the storm pulls off to the north and east.

Temperatures will drop throughout the afternoon as winds shift northwest and cooler sir moves into the region. In fact, the rain could even end as a brief period of snow before the drier air arrives. And on the huge travel day Thanksgiving Wednesday always is, it could adversely affect road travel even though no metro area accumulations are expected.

Heavy snow will be a problem could over the mountains of Maryland, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. Heavy snow will also make headlines over northern and northwest Pennsylvania, western New York and western New England.

Thanksgiving day brings the return of sunshine as well as blustery cold air. Highs will peak in the 30's with wind chills in the 20's. Sunny and crisp conditions linger for Black Friday with slight warming for the weekend.
