High pressure is building back into our area today. It provided mostly clear skies and those clear skies will continue tonight. Temperatures will drop into the 20s overnight. Another sunny day is in our forecast for tomorrow with afternoon temperatures returning to the middle 40s. More sunshine is forecast for Saturday along with a brief warm-up to near 50 degrees. Clouds may begin returning to the region Saturday night.

On Sunday, we will be watching for the possibility of an area of low pressure moving northward along the mid-Atlantic Coast. If this indeed develops and we think there is at least a 50% chance that it will…skies will become cloudy on Sunday with rain developing during the day and continuing into Sunday night. Depending on the system’s track and temperature profiles, the rain may mix with or chance to some snow before ending Monday morning. That aspect of the forecast will remain subject to change as conditions warrant. A new area of high pressure will build into the area by New Year’s Eve with somewhat colder temperatures arriving with it.
