Low pressure will continue to race away from the mid-Atlantic overnight as skies gradually clear. Temperatures will dip to the middle and upper 30s. Monday will be brighter, breezier and colder with highs around 40, but the wind will make it feel like the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Tuesday will be chilly with highs once again near 40 degrees. Dress warmly for outdoor New Year's Eve activities as lows will fall into the 20s! The first day of 2014 will be dry with a high near 38.

We are still tracking the potential development of a coastal low Thursday and into Friday. It is worth watching over the coming days to better determine its impact on the DC area.
