Another arctic airmass is moving into our area. The cold air will be delivered by steady northwesterly winds. It won't be windy today, just breezy. But even breezy will be uncomfortable, as temperatures will only reach the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. Wind chills will be in the teens and briefly drop in spots to single numbers, as the winds occasionally gust. Partly cloudy skies return tomorrow  and temperatures will rebound through the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. Saturday will be cloudy, as the next area of low pressure approaches. This system will pass south of Washington. The forecast challenge involes the type of precipitation that will fall. While some areas may see some snow or sleet or a wintry mix, we believe this system will eventually produce a cold rain. Not a pleasant day at all.
