Well, today is the coldest day that we have seen since 2/4/96 when our daytime high was 17 degrees and overnight lows in the D.C. area were measured at 9 degrees. Wind Advisory is now going through tonight for most locations (with the exception of the southern portions of the area) for wind chills 0 to -10 degrees. Winds are rolling out of the west at 10-20 mph with some higher gusts. The winds will finally start to calm as we continue through the evening hours and will eventually go light during the overnight hours.

Overnight lows tonight will fall just a few degrees from our actually daytime high today (today: Mid Single digits to Mid teens). A beautiful but cold day in store tomorrow. Daytime highs right around 30 degrees with sunshine and light winds. A gradual warming trend will take place into the weekend with daytime highs on Thursday and Friday reaching the low to mid 40s and heading into the 50s for the weekend (in fact, we could see a few temperatures around 60 for the weekend!). Some bumps in the roads in terms of rain here and there towards the end of the work week and into the weekend.
