Washington D.C. Forecast: Cold and Breezy This Weekend Before Warming Up on Monday

The rollercoaster of temperatures continues with a small cold snap this weekend before a brief warm up Monday. Then back to frigid temps next week!

Sunshine in the across the area today as temperatures warm into the mid to upper 40s. Clouds will be on the move into the region this evening, bringing a chance for some light snow showers –possibly a little rain mixed in as well-anytime after 8PM tonight. By tomorrow morning, the damage is already done and much colder conditions will settle in. Temperatures tomorrow will only top out in the low to mid 30s with breezy northwest winds. This will bring the wind chill factor down into the 20s. Clouds overnight Saturday into Sunday, another small chance of seeing some light snow showers/flurries move across the region (20%). Clearing will take place through the day on Sunday bringing sunshine back into the forecast, however, for a few hours in the afternoon the winds will pick up again bringing our wind chills back into the low 30s although our air temperature will be right around 40. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be fairly quiet with sunshine and temperatures nearing 50 degrees. Another cold snap expected to move into the region by Tuesday as temperatures fall into the 30s/20 for daytime highs to finish out the work week.
