The Arctic high that brought us the arctic cold and brilliant sunshine is finally going to slide off the East Coast and bring a warmer southerly wind into the weekend. Highs will reach into the 40s today and tomorrow before peaking in the low 50s Sunday. A moisture-starved cold front could produce a light shower or two later on Sunday before colder air moves back in early next week. We have to keep our eye on a southern disturbance that will bring rain and possibly a wintry mix to parts of the area early next week. One disturbance will slide north and east to the Virginia coast, bringing a few flurries Monday with a better potential for wintry weather on Tuesday. That storm looks to be a classic set up for a wintry mix to rain for the region, with the best chance for a prolonged period of snow, sleet and freezing rain west of the Blue Ridge. Only time will tell so enjoy the milder air and we’ll keep you abreast of any weather concerns. Have a great weekend!
