Washington D.C. Forecast: Rain returns later tonight

Areas of light rain will return late tonight into Tuesday and a chance for light snow may mix in Wednesday.

A couple of cold fronts will affect our area for the next couple days. The first front will cross the region later tonight and tomorrow bringing the chance of rain. Rain could develop overnight tonight and be around until Tuesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, another cold front will approach and an area of low pressure may form along the front as it is coming through. Right now we are calling for cloudy and colder conditions on Wednesday with a 30% chance of rain or a rain/snow mix developing Wednesday afternoon. The precipitation may continue through Wednesday night. But it is not expected to be heavy. And is not expected to have much impact as temperatures should remain above freezing. In fact, temperatures are not expected to drop below freezing until the precipitation has ended and skies start to clear late Wednesday night.
