Another Arctic Cold Front has arrived bringing gusty winds and much colder air to town. This has prompted the NWS to issue another Wind Chill Advisory for the area effective at 1 am Tuesday morning. Temperatures will fall into the single digits and wind chills will drop below zero in many areas. Skies will be partly cloudy for a while but may become mostly cloudy during the day, especially the farther south and southeast you are from D.C. This will be due to the development of an area of low pressure along the Arctic Front which will be well south of our area.
This system will bring a variety a winter precipitation across a large part of the Gulf Coastal States, Georgia and the Carolinas. We do expect any of the precipitation to affect our area. Skies will clear later Wednesday/ Slightly warmer air may return to this area (30s) on Thursday and Friday. This is a 30% chance parts of the area could see a wintry mix on Friday.
